GTA 6 on PC via the Cloud? Xbox Shuts the Door at Launch

GTA 6 won't be playable on PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming when it launches on November 19, 2026. On October 7, Xbox denied a rumor that Microsoft had secured exclusive streaming rights to the game, which had opened a door for PC players.

Where did the GTA 6 Xbox Cloud Gaming rumor come from?

In early October, a US press report claimed that Microsoft had obtained exclusive streaming rights to GTA 6 at launch. That was enough to get players imagining playing on a PC, tablet or TV without a console.

What did Xbox say about GTA 6 streaming?

Matthew Ball, Xbox's head of strategy, called the report inaccurate: GTA 6 will not be streamed exclusively, nor on PC. PC players will therefore have to wait.

Could GTA 6 still come to Xbox Cloud Gaming?

The wording doesn't entirely rule out streaming via Xbox Cloud Gaming on other devices. Nothing is official at this stage, and we'll update this article if anything is announced.
